In February one of the first trees in the garden to bloom with a shower of white perfumed flowers is the wild Prune. At the same time the Snowdrops show their white bells (Galanthus). By the middle of February when we have a "mild" winter the Pulmonaria opens her first flowers and often at that time the Crocuses will open as well. With luck the bumblebees will harvest then....

I have a white  Pulmonaria alba, blue Pulmonaria Blue Pearl, and small leaved  Pulmonaria augustifolia and the lovely Pulmonaria mrs Moon. These plants all love this clay garden so much they tend to overgrow and seed themselves profusely

Before even spring is there we have in bloom: several Crocus species, Crocus Jeanne D'Arc a white, 15 cm  plant with large flowers , Cr. "Gold Bunch" ,  Cr. "Prinsess. Beatrix", Cr. "Snowbunting", and Cr. "Blue Pearl"  Other bulbs like the Chionodoxa Luciliae, blue flowering, 15 cm high and nice in the shadow and Brodiaea Queen Fabiola, also blue and 20 cm and many blue Anemones 

Petasitus hybridus is very early as well, it blossoms first and then starts growing its gigantic leaves.
