Rosa New Dawn (strong pink climbing rose)
Clematis Jackmanii (the original purple one)
Lonicera belgica and several other Honeysuckle
Lupines, (the purple ones are the most snail resistant here)
Polemonium caerulium Blue Pearl Jacob's ladder - does very well on our heavy clay soil, but does not seed itself here.
Lysimachia punctata -Garden loose strife - blooms yellow and also does well in partial shade. It makes strong clumps and is indestructable.
In the herbgarden you will see Phlox paniculata "White admiral" (white Flox with a lovely smell) Rosa "Lasting Beauty" (Noadort) and Rosa "Schneewitchen" which blooms a long time.
In between these grows the smallflowered white blooming Clematis purpurea
In the garden on the side of the house the Astrantia major blosoms all summer and does very well on clay soil, seeding itself. In my garden it is relatively slug resistant as well
In containers I grow plants which do not need much attention:
Osteospermum Fantasy namaqua and
Osteospermum Nairobie
Surfinia var. Sunblue (blue surfinia)
Surfinia var. Kesupite (White surfinia)
Surfinia var. Suntosol (Pink vein Surfinia)
French Geranium (dark pink with some light pink
And the ordinary Geranium (Pelargonium)
